When I made the decision to come online I found myself trying to figure out just how to create a website, much less how to make it work!

What I discovered over the course of the last couple of years, really opened my eyes to see things in a different light.

First order of business… align your passion with your business, find your niche (be target specific), get organized (big one here)… AND THEN it’s time to PLAN building a highly successful, well-organized, smooth running, long-term online business.

It really boils down to the systems you create to attract your ideal client to you instead of you trying to position yourself in an act of desperation to find clients to work with you in your online business. People buy systems and they buy from people they feel like they have a connection with; someone they connect to through a story which relates to their own personal story. A mirror image of their own life journey.

Difference being… YOU have walked the path and are ahead of your client. Your client can feel your passion for reaching your own goals and realizes that YOU are perfect for them to work with and follow. A match made in heaven.

You don’t have to be perfect to start building your online business… you DO have to have your system in place to start AND a clear, heart-centered approach to REALLY wanting to genuinely help people improve their lives personally and/or professionally.

The basic beginning of your online business begins with creating a website or blog so when you do make the connection with potential clients, you have a comfortable process for them to follow. This day and age… a website is a MUST for business growth even if you are working a brick and mortar offline business.

Having a website or blog is a GREAT way to comfortably have people come to you, connect with you, and get to know what you have to offer that would help them move forward in their life without them having to feel pressured.

I am a FIRM believer in developing an online presence… which is why I learned to build my own website, my own blog, create my own products, and am learning how to leverage my income!

THEN work on putting systems together to build your business. This way when you meet someone in person and they ask what you do, you effortlessly let your elevation speech roll off your tongue and then ask them if they are interested in finding out more. No matter what their answer, you HAVE a system, a process that remains exactly the same for each person. This process leads them to your website and then through the rest of your well planned process.

Gone are the days of just handing someone a business card with only your name, address, and phone numbers on it where you are left to only wonder if they will call you, or perhaps they stick your card in their wallet to be used later as quick scratch pad to write someone else’s phone number on the back. Business cards should be a representation of you, your business, your brand and your website… not just the basics.

I am a firm believer that if you want to start your own online life coaching business, YOU should take the time to learn how to create a website or blog. It is much easier to do than you think AND in the long run will SAVE YOU A TON OF MONEY AND TIME! You can always outsource once you start making money, but it sure helps to know that YOU can make changes to your online business as you see fit and not wait for a webmaster to squeeze you in and charge you for what you think you want. Creating your own website or blog has tremendous advantages and it really IS easy.

Once you start creating the process you can grow your business exponentially from there. The sky is the limit with what you can do that will not only grow your online business but provides a vehicle for you to create systems and products to leverage your time in the long run.
