Product Creation and 8 Great Ideas To Get You Started
When I first came online back in 2007, I was fascinated with the idea of product creation and how people made a living creating digital products and using video to sell their services to their market. I wanted to learn as much as I possibly could and start making money with my own products.
It turned out that there was a lot to learn. It can be overwhelming when you first come online and see all the different ways to make money, but the fact of the matter is it doesn’t have to be difficult.
Here is a little product creation advice that you can use to help you grow your business:
1) Reports – Simple and easy to create. This is a great way to offer people something such as a “The Top 5 Mistakes People Make When __________ And How to Avoid Them” to help solve their problems. People tend to like to read lists and bulleted points to help them in specific areas they need solutions to. Many reports are given away for free as an offer for signing up for their newsletter. Great way to build you list.
2) eBooks – You can turn you report, or anything you write in a word processor such as Word 2007, into a PDF. PDF’s have great value and can also be given away in exchange for someone’s information to sign up for your newlsetter or you can sell them. These are first created in programs such as Word and then converted into a PDF. You can do this yourself or if you don’t want to learn it you can have someone do it for you. Depends on how much time you want to spend on projects like this.
3) MP3′s – I love making MP3′s! I am a runner so these are wonderful for those who use the gym or working out to listen to music OR your MP3
They are one of my favorite things in product creation. So easy to do and many ways to get one done. You can also call in on a free conference calling service and record your conversation there and off it as a free give-away to your subscribers. Another great idea for MP3′s is that people are so busy they really like the idea that when they have the time to really listen to you, an MP3 serves as a perfect tool to download on your MP3 player or ipod, iphone… to listen to at their uninterrupted convenience.
4) eCourse – Very popular, especially if you are targeting promoting something in the end such as your coaching program. I found the easiest way to do an ecourse in product creation is to pick a topic and then 5 to 7 questions or points you want to address relating to that particular topic. I used to think this was difficult, but if you look at what I am doing here this is exactly how I created my ecourse when you sign up for my newsletter. Very effective and each day in the ecourse gives a solution people can implement immediately to get results. Sometimes it’s things others may not have thought about or gives them another way to view something.
5) Videos – Video marketing is a highly effective way to use product creation to build your audience. Personally, I prefer MP3 or Video… you may prefer something else. This is exactly why you should learn all of these ways to create products to give away and sell. Video is so easy! When I first came online I struggled wondering how the heck to do this, but found a simple flip camera or what I use, my old Sony handycam works perfectly. You can use Windows Movie Maker if you have a PC which comes preinstalled on your computer, or you can use an editing progam such as Sony Movie Studio. Video is a great way for you to connect with your audience on a much more personal level and Google loves video… and why not, they own YouTube.
6) Teleseminars – It is super easy to set up a call, invite people to join your call, record it and then turn it into a product. So many ways to use teleseminars. In fact, I recently took a coaching program which was strickly help on recorded calls. You can invite guests to be the experts in their field and you interview them, you can survey your subscribers and ask them what questions they have regarding a specific topic and then answer those questions. The sky is the limit here. The beautiful part about this is that you can re-purpose these recordings and turn them into a product to sell over and over. Beware, teleseminars are easy and can be addicting to do because so. LOVE THEM!
7) Webinars – A little more complicated to do, and some people may be challenged as guests as to how to use them. It requires that attendees install the software and sign up and then have to understand what to do once they are on the webinar. But, nonetheless, a powerful product creation tool that can really make you look like an expert in your niche. You can incorporate Powerpoint slides in your presentation, take questions and do a live Q&A with your audience, and help solve people’s curiosity as to how to use a product or service. Highly effective and makes a great product to use over and over.
8 ) Group Together - After you have learned how to use and produce these type of product creation tools and techniques, you can then put things together to sell as a package. You can use some for give-aways, individual sales and eventually build your library of products and package them together. Another way to package things together is to create a coaching program once you know how to create and use all these different products. This is how you create items for your funneling system to lead your clients through a system which leads them eventually to buy from you because they see the value you offer.
A lot of giving on your part to your clients builds what is know as reciprocity. You give, give, give and then people feel like they need to buy, buy, buy because you gave so much value in the past.
It all boils down to how much you can genuinely help someone successfully achieve the goals they have for a particular solution to their problem. So keep in mind that selling is not the name of the game here… it’s serving others in the highest way possible.
Give first and the selling will come effortlessly.
Those are some of the ways I create products I sell over and over… hope you enjoyed this product creation advice and be sure to share you comments below
